Commissioner Terry Roland said about 10 people contacted him about the vacancy. Apparently Roland is not the only commissioner receiving calls as the list of possible replacements covers former elected officials, candidates for the district office and Collierville community leaders.

Once Gov. Bill Haslam officially declares the vacancy, the county Board of Commissioners has 120 days to appoint an interim successor to Lovell, a Republican from Eads accused last week of inappropriate sexual conduct with a woman. Lovell denies the accusations. A special election would follow.
