Taxpayers have a few extra days to get their taxes done. While today, April 15th, is the traditional tax deadline, this year's deadline is actually Tuesday, April 17th. The reason is due to a combination of the 15th falling on a Sunday and a holiday unique to Washington, DC, that hits on Monday, April 16th. Tomorrow, the nation's capital will celebrate Emancipation Day. While it's a local holiday, it does affect when taxes are due.
Next year, Tax Day returns to the usual date of April 15th.
