Military Appreciation Month- Hometown Heroes Honored Here

The month of May ends with the beginning of Summer and a weekend that is set a side to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. A day that was originally called Decoration Day. Memorial Day 2020 occurs on Monday, May 25. It originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades to celebrate the lives lost by brave men and women who put our freedoms and lives ahead of theirs.

In the Mid-South, we have plenty of friends and neighbors who have been directly touched by the sacrifices of their family members that stepped up to serve this great country unselfishly.

As we approach Memorial Day this month, I'm asking you to send names and service info of Hometown Heroes you know. Maybe a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker. Let me know more about them so I can recognize our Mid-South Hometown Heroes every afternoon at 3:30 all month.
