Taco Bell is set to debut its take on chicken nuggets nationwide on Thursday (December 19), TODAY.com confirmed following previous reports.
Taco Bell previously tested chicken nuggets -- a stable of several fast food competitors -- in select Houston locations earlier this year. Last month, food blogger Markie Devo reported the Crispy Chicken Nuggets would be released nationwide as the restaurant phased out its 'Through the Decades' menu, which brought back several iconic discontinued items for a limited time.
"Incase you’re saddened when Taco Bell takes away the decades menu, here’s some nuggets on the way. Taco Bell will launch their Crispy Chicken Nuggets nationwide in December," Devo wrote.
Taco Bell's Crispy Chicken Nuggets are made with all-white meat chicken marinated in a mild jalapeño buttermilk and breaded in a coating that includes crunchy tortilla bits, meeting the restaurant's Mexican-inspired theme.
"Taco Bell is bringing yet another chicken innovation in Crispy Chicken Nuggets, which consists of all-white meat chicken marinated in spiced jalapeño buttermilk before being breaded in a tortilla coating and fried to crispy glory," the restaurant announced in a news release of its Live Más Live Event in Las Vegas in February. "Fans can choose from two new delectable sauce options: signature Bell sauce, crafted with tomatoes, red chiles, onion, and garlic, or the hot and sweet Jalapeño Honey Mustard, featuring sweet honey mustard with a kick of jalapeño."
