Majority of Americans believe we need Third party

Daily Digit is the story behind the numbers that make our world work. Today we’re looking at the two-party system. According to a new study, 57% of Americans say a third major political party is needed. In 2003, a majority of people felt both parties did an “adequate job.” But that opinion has changed in recent years. Historically, Republicans and Democrats held similar views about the need for a third party, but that also changed this year with a significant gap now seen between the parties. And unsurprisingly, support is highest among Independents. Do you believe there is a need for a third major political party?
